SynGas

SynGas, H2 + CO, is the direct end product of gasification and is used as an intermediary building block for the final production (synthesis) of various fuels such as synthetic natural gas, ammonia, methanol, and synthetic petroleum fuel.  SynGas may also be used as a direct fuel source.  In a purified state, the hydrogen component of SynGas can also be used to directly power hydrogen fuel cells for electricity generation and fuel cell electric vehicle propulsion.

 

Saint-Gobain NorPro provides technology-driven ceramic solutions for use in SynGas purification and processing applications.  NorPro® products include a wide range of top bed reactor components consisting of MacroTrap®  guard bed media, HSA alumina rings, pentarings, Denstone® 99 high-alumina bed support media, Denstone® 2000 bed support media, and the new Denstone deltaP™ bed support media.

Denstone® bed support media provide long service life and reliable operating service.  Denstone bed support media will not plug or contaminate catalyst beds and will withstand extreme thermal shock without breaking.
