Ethanol

In addition to its other uses in the chemical and petrochemical industry, ethanol is increasingly being used as a source of transportation fuel.

 

Saint-Gobain NorPro contributes to the efforts for “clean fuels” with its fixed bed MacroTrap® guard bed media, Denstone® brand catalyst bed support media and bed topping products – all utilized extensively in ethanol processing.   Denstone support balls are also highly effective in molecular sieve processing.

MacroTrap® Guard Bed Media

MacroTrap® guard bed media provide an effective barrier against catalyst fouling, helping to keep your reactor up and running.

Denstone® Ceramic Support Media

Denstone® support media provide for long service life and reliable operating service.  Denstone support media will not plug or contaminate catalyst beds and will withstand extreme thermal shock and rapid depressurization without breaking.

Bed Topping Media

Bed topping media are specially engineered for use as a hold-down media at the top of graded reactor beds, are optimized to provide lower pressure drop, and improved flow distribution.

Catalyst Carriers

Catalyst carriers are custom-engineered for our customers.  Surface area, pore size distribution, material and shape are tailored for specific process requirements.
